We have furnished our 27 guest bedrooms to reflect the way we ourselves like to live. And that means one thing you will not find here is a television set at the focal point of the living space – nor any “deco objects” or garish effects.
What you can expect instead is beautiful furniture hand-made by Bregenzerwald craftsmen, top-quality mattresses, good music to choose from, time to yourself in spacious surroundings, natural cosmetics and an in-house library – not to mention Helene and Dietmar Nussbaumer as your dedicated hosts, and their little sons Oskar and Max. And they in turn are backed by the team everyone knows as “the Krone family”, because we all work together as a good family does.
Guests at the Krone can also look forward to a breakfast buffet featuring all sorts of home-made delights, from jams to muesli to breads and an array of fine pastries – and in the evenings, award-winning regional cuisine in the form of a four-course dinner. Our veranda overlooks the village square, and the well-shaded garden for hotel guests is just right for hot summer days. Then in winter there is our cosy chimney-corner room. Afternoon tea by the leaping, crackling log fire…. The Krone’s own library, and board games. A small sauna for private use. Ask us for tips on what to see and do in the local area – our recommendations will be tailored to you personally and for your enjoyment.
As for “no television” – what if it’s the last week of your favourite soap? – No problem: just ask, and we’ll pop a TV set into your room. Free, of course.
The Krone at Hittisau was built in the year 1838 by Johann Conrad Bechter. What might link him to present-day Bregenzerwald architects like Leopold Kaufmann, Fritz Natter and Bernardo Bader? Right first time: all contributed design features to the Krone.
Our guests can unwind and relax perfectly here, enjoying the fine craftsmanship of the hotel furnishings created for us by the woodworkers of Werkraum Bregenzerwald – it’s a marriage of comfort and beautiful design.
