The Bechterstube – “Come on, show some disrespect!” ...
… That was what the philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche meant (though he put it in more literary language) when he issued his angry challenge to disciples everywhere: you must dare to criticise, dare to improve on the works of your master! Back in 2007 we showed major disrespect to the work of our ancestors, when we began to strip away the accretions of the centuries, layer by layer. What followed was an unsentimental but loving rebirth of Bregenzerwald architecture, touched by the spirit of innovation. And the new Krone that has arisen from the old is a showcase example of Bregenzerwald handcraft artistry.
