Winter – Bracing cold days in the Bregenzerwald
For two days on end it has been snowing, great white flakes drifting down. The Bregenzerwald is tucked up under its deep soft silvery winter quilt. The village has a quality of silence now, everything moves more gently, all outlines are softened, and people everywhere are at peace (well, probably). Tomorrow the sun will rise into a glorious blue sky over Hittisau, caressing the Krone’s sleeping guests into wakefulness. And off they go: downhillers, XC fans, hikers and gentle amblers, off to revel in the deep powder, the cross-country ski trails, and everywhere the magical winter landscapes.
