Frauenmuseum Hittisau (The Women’s Museum)
The first Women’s Museum to open in Austria, award-winning architecture in wood, and a feminine approach to culture. A female perspective on all aspects of life conjures up illuminating insights into living tradition. This is more than just old customs, more than heritage awareness, more than routine.
Twice every year, the village of Schwarzenberg, on the edge of the Bregenzerwald, becomes a Mecca for all who love chamber music. World-class soloists, top-flight ensembles, an ambience that is stylish yet genuinely rural.
Gasthof Krone is your host for the Festival. Before and after the concerts, the Krone is the place to dine, discuss, analyse, criticise. Relax and enjoy. Coach shuttle to Schwarzenberg.
The Bregenz Festival
Visual spectaculars on Lake Constance, rare operas performed in the Festival Hall, magnificent orchestral concerts, cutting-edge theatre – and the unforgettable setting of the city between lake and mountains.
Kunsthaus Bregenz
"The art museum stands in the light of Lake Constance. It is made of glass and steel and a cast concrete stone mass which endows the interior of the building with texture and spatial composition. From the outside, the building looks like a lamp. It absorbs the changing light of the sky, the haze of the lake, it reflects light and colour and gives an intimation of its inner life according to the angle of vision, the daylight and the weather."
Peter Zumthor, Architect
